Pol Pot
- The Main leader of the Cambodian Genocide was Pol Pot.
- Pol Pot was born on 1925 in a small village of prek sbuav.
- prek sbuav was about 100 miles away from the Cambodian capital.
- Pol Pot's family were wealthy.
- Pol pot moved away in 1934 from prek sbuav to phnom penh.
- When he moved there he went to a Buddhist monastery then he went to a French Catholic primary school.
- Cambodian education continued for him until 1949 and he went to Paris to get a scholarship.
- He also studied radio technology while he was there.

Prior to the genocide
The genocide was caused by a serious or harsh political and social disagreement between Pol Pot and the Cambodia government.
After the disagreement Pol Pot started small that grew into a large force of 700,000 men to participate.

The 8 stages are classification, symbolization, dehumanization, organization, polarization, preparation, Extermination, Denial
Classification: Pol pot classified people by religion or race.
Symbolization: The blue scarf was worn to represent the yellow star made by the Khmer rouge central committee
Dehumanization: Pol pot torched victims, he treated them like animals, they lived in terrible conditions.
Organization: Pol pot ordered solders and started commanding Kmer rouge helped.
Polarization: People who seemed smart or spoke another language was shot.
Preparation: Pol pot got guns from the U.S and U.K and he gave them support financially plus military support.
Extermination: The genocide began in 1975 and ended in 1979 (4 years). Over two million people were killed.
Denial: The U.S tried to cover up the genocide and the U.S and Cambodia were secretly at war.

Who knew and who helped?
A couple of contries knew like the U.S but they didnt pay any attention to the actions. The U.S tried to cover it up. The one's who took action and stood against Pol Pot and his force was Vietnamese.
